About real
real is a place for those who are aged Year 8 - 18s
It runs every Friday night (with the odd night off for things like Christmas) from 7.15-9.15pm
We start out hanging out together, either playing pool, table tennis, computer games or creating something creative on the arty table... or just chatting - if you can be heard over the music!
>>> Oh we also have a tuck shop full of stuff thats bad for ya... as well as a few fairtrade goodies <<<
Then we get together for a game before worshiping God - helped out by our resident youth band - the aptly named 'real band'! [auditions are taken periodically so if you wanna join you will get the opportunity to try!)
We then get to hear something from one of the regular guys who come to real - often pearls of wisdom from their real life experiences from living the Christian life.
Lastly, we get to hear some more via one of our youth leaders or someone we invite in to speak to us. They may also challenge us to do something during the week, which we get to report back on the following week.
Finally, we get an opportunity to get some prayer... then we get chucked out... that bit sucks!
But... the great thing is, we also have various events all through the year... this includes:
> UNREAL - a cool event where we invite our friends, see the gallery for more on that!
> Bootcamp - A weekend away, were we get to know each other a bit better, as well as learning about God and getting to know him better too! See some pix here.
> Soul Survivor - This is an amazing time! We go camping in a field in Somerset with 10;000 other youth and have a ball... see or pix from the past two years in the gallery!
> The Ultimate Event - This is at Alton Towers! That would be cool enough... bueven better is the fact that a whole load of top notch Chistian bands also play in the evening! Awesome! Check out some of our antics when we went before!
